Tahini is such a versatile ingredient. You can enjoy it as a spread on its own, mix it with cocoa powder and honey or maple syrup for a healthier pastry filling, or use it in savory dishes like salads, pasta sauces, and dips. Its flavor is milder than most nut butters, yet it’s packed with nutrients and goodness.
This Greek yogurt tahini sauce has become a staple in our household. It’s creamy, refreshing, and incredibly easy to make. All you need is a blender to bring everything together, though a simple bowl and whisk work just as well. Perfect for busy days when you want something quick, wholesome, and full of flavor.
We love having with some crackers or pita bread cut into triangles, or serve it with some roasted chicken or biftekia.

Ingredients & How-to
To make this Greek yogurt tahini sauce, we are going to use Greek yogurt, tahini, garlic, lemon, fresh dill, salt and freshly ground pepper.
- Greek yogurt: Strained Greek yogurt is thicker than regular yogurt and will give you a thicker dip. If you’d like it to be more runny then you could use regular yogurt.
- Tahini: Tahini usually comes in a jar, and the oil often separates and rises to the top. If that happens, give it a good stir with a knife or a long spoon until it becomes thick and creamy again.
- Fresh dill: It gives the yogurt tahini sauce a nice aroma and a refreshing flavor but if you are not a big fan, you could substitute it with fresh parsley or cilantro.

Tahini like nut butters often separates and the oil from the crushed sesame seeds comes at the top. If you haven't used it for a while, simply give it a good stir until it becomes creamy and runny again.
You could use a dairy-free yogurt of your choice instead of dairy Greek yogurt. The sauce might be a little bit thinner but it will still taste good.
